GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

Power cables shall be of the XLPE/SWA or YY type, from switch panel to the local isolator.

Final connections to each unit shall be carried out using LSF insulated copper cable
(6491B) enclosed within PVC covered flexible steel conduit terminated with weatherproof
glands.

The Electrical Contractor will install a 25-core cable between the AHU controller and the
central control panel for the use of the controls Contractor.
2.16.3.2 Gas Fired Heating A.H.U’s

The Electrical Contractor shall supply and install weatherproof isolators adjacent each gas
fire Air Handling Unit as shown on the drawings.

The isolator shall be IP65 rated.
The isolator shall be fixed to galvanised steel frames supplied and installed by the
Electrical Contractor.

Controls cabling between the components that make up the complete AHU and remote
sensors will be carried out by the HVAC Contractor.
2.16.4 Heater Batteries (Where Fitted)

Heater batteries single or multi-stage of the twin cut-out type, low temperature (50 C)

auto reset thermal cut-out, high temperature (250 C) manual reset.
Duct mounted heater batteries will be supplied and installed by others in the duct work
within the ceiling voids in the positions shown on the drawings.

Fixed wiring shall terminate in an isolator adjacent to the heater battery. Final
connections shall be made by the Electrical Contractor using heat resistant flexible cable
reference 3183TQ fitted with brass packing glands, or single core cables and flexible
conduit as described on the drawings.

2.16.5 Toilet Extract Fans

The following extract fans will be supplied and installed by others.
