GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

The Electrical Contractor shall supply and install wiring from the HVAC panel to each
extract fan.

Fixed wiring shall terminate in an isolator mounted adjacent to each fan. Final

connections shall be carried out using 1.5mm 3 core PVC 3183Y flexible cable.
The isolator shall be as IP65 rated.
2.16.6 Overdoor Air Curtain

An over door air curtain system will be installed by the HVAC Contractor inclusive of a
door fan and remote reverse cycle heat pump.
The Electrical Contractor will provide a three-phase supply and isolator for the remote

condenser/heat pump plant; this will normally be installed in the roof plant space.
The isolator will be IP65 rated, rotary type rated at 25A TP&N with padlock facilities.

The supply cable will be multicore XLPE/SWA or YY.

The door fan will be provided with an SP&N electrical supply from the roof plant, the
Electrical Contractor will install a 3-core YY cable between the roof plant and the door fan,
the supply cable will terminated in a 25A SP&N rotary isolator with pad lock facilities.

2.16.7 Refrigeration Plant

A walk-in freezer and cold room will be installed by a specialist.

The Electrical Contractor shall supply and install a sub-main to the refrigeration control
panel.
All other power and control wiring will be provided by the specialist.

2.16.8 Gas Fired Domestic Water Heater and Circulating Pump

2.16.8.1 Heater

A floor standing gas fired domestic hot water heater will be supplied and installed by
others.
The Electrical Contractor shall supply and install a single phase supply terminating in a
fused connection unit as MK Electric Ltd K972 ALM.

Final connection to the heater shall be carried out by the Electrical Contractor using 3

core 1.5mm heat resistant cable 3183 TQ.
2.16.8.2 Flue Dilution Fan (Where Fitted)

When specified a single phase supply shall be terminated within 150mm of the water
heater feed to supply the flue dilution fan. The rating will be as identified by the boiler
installation Contractor.
