3. Vacancies shall be filled within thirty (30) days of the date that the vacancy arises
(see the NPP).
4. Acting Officers: During the interim period prior to an officer vacancy being filled
permanently, the Chapter President MAY appoint a Member in Good Standing to
serve in the vacated office until someone is appointed to permanently fill the vacant
position. While the Acting Officer may make reports to the Executive
Board/Committee and the Chapter regarding the status and ongoing plans managed
by said office, the Acting Officer shall have no voting authority in Executive
Board/Committee meetings (as related to their status as an Acting Officer) and may
not utilize the funds of the Chapter to execute projects managed by the office
without prior approval of the Chapter President. Such appointments do not require
an official installation ceremony.
Section 2: Appointed Officers
A. Appointed officers shall be appointed by the Chapter President. The appointed
officers of the Chapter shall include but not be limited to:
1. Parliamentarian (National Requirement)
2. Foundation Chair (National Requirement)
3. Protocol Chair (National Requirement)
4. Sergeant-at-Arms
5. Chaplain
6. Associate Chairperson (non-voting Member)
B. All Appointed Officers serve at the privilege of the President and may be removed without
case in her sole discretion.
C. Term of Office:
1. Subject to B above, all appointed officers shall serve for one term (2 years), but
no more than two (2) consecutive terms (4 years) in the same office. However,
after serving in the same office for 2 consecutive terms, an appointed officer may
be appointed to serve additional terms in said office after an interval of one term (2
years).
2. Subject to B above, Appointed Officers shall serve concurrent terms to the
Executive Board with whom they are appointed.
D. Chapter Appointed officers shall not hold an elected National or Regional Office.
