(2) Any proposals which may finally be agreed upon for
the division of•the sea-bed and detailed application of
them by agreement with both interested parties. This will
be a long and difficult affair though the division of the
seu-bed would not, unless by agreement affect the existing
sovereignty over the islands or shoals insofar as these
could bo considered as islands. On the point of sovereignly
over individual shoals and islands further information is :
necessary. It would be difficult to treat Fasht Du Saafah
in isolation.
(3) How far it would be necessary to consult other states
concerned in the division of the sea-bed of the Persian ;
Gulf in order to secure the adoption of agreed principles '
regarding its division.
For the above reasons the way is not yet clear for the
/negotiations
