tke allowances to the Al Khalifa family were out of

all prepertiena to the revenue of tke State and that
ke akould be careful not to increase thorn without
consulting mo. Ho atatod that he kad an no ooeaaion
increased them without tke cenaent of tke Political
Agent.
I suggested that the cadets of tke Al

Khalifa akould be oduoatod with a view to earning
their own living. Ho replied that erring to the recent
opening of aohools tkoro would now bo no difficulty
whatever.
