ITE Youth Fundraising Project
Four ITE Students who are NYAA Gold Award
participants from ITE College East successfully raised
$86,000.00 to help needy fellow students financially
during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I shared with Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime
Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic
Policies and Minister for Finance, about their
contributions to the needy students at ITE College
East. DPM Heng signed four Appreciation Certificates
to present to the students at a ceremony hosted by ITE students received the Certificate of Achievement signed by
ITE College East. They were presented on behalf of Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for
Finance at ITE College East.

Council. The students were very appreciative of DPM
Heng’s kind gesture, and they pledged to continue
serving society to the best of their ability. The four
students were also looking forward to completing
their NYAA Gold Award in 2021.
Wilbur Smith Author of Tomorrow Prize 2020
Ms Sarah Ang, an NYAA Bronze Award holder from
Methodist Girls’ School and NYAA Gold Awardee and
a third-year English Literature undergraduate with
the University College London, won an Adventure
Writing Prize in September 2020. The Organiser
shortlisted ten works from the 600 entries around the
world. Sarah was named the top winner for 2020. The
prize was from the bestselling novelist Wilbur Smith’s
“Author of Tomorrow Prize” from the London-based
Wilbur and Niso Smith Foundation.
Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and
Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies
and Minister for Finance, signed a Certificate of
Achievement for Sarah. Mr James Soh presented
the certificate to Ms Sarah Ang at a luncheon on 28
December 2020.
Ms Sarah Ang, a recipient of the Wilbur Smith Author of
Tomorrow Prize 2020, received the Certificate of Achievement
from Mr James Soh, NYAA Executive Director.
