COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
• SEA Air-Studio Exhibition
NYAA supports cultural events in Singapore and
beyond. H.E. Iwona Piorko, Ambassador of the
European Union, much appreciated our presence
when NYAA representatives supported Southeast
Asian artists at the SEA AiR-Studio Exhibition,
organised by the European Union Embassy in
Singapore. Our involvement underscores our
commitment to fostering cultural exchanges and
creative dialogues at the international level.
• Malay Youth Literary Association
Ministerial Dialogue
NYAA collaborates closely with the Malay Youth
Literary Association (4 PM) to develop Malay youth
leaders in Singapore. We participated in the annual
Ministerial Dialogue with political leaders to address
issues Malay youth face. The 2023 dialogue with
the Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for
National Security, Teo Chee Hean, provided valuable
insights for developing leadership programmes
benefiting Malay youth.
• First Anniversary of Russia’s Invasion of
Ukraine
A key focus of the NYAA programme is preparing our
young people to be patriotic and resilient in times
of crisis. NYAA participated in the first Anniversary
of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at the invitation of
H.E. Zelenko Kateryna, Ambassador of Ukraine to
Singapore, alongside 80 ambassadors. NYAA was
honoured to be the only youth organisation present,
alongside senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.
The Ukraine-Russia war taught us the true meaning
of patriotism and defending one’s country—a lesson
Singapore can learn from the Ukrainians.
• Visit by Michelin Star French Chef to
Singapore
NYAA’s Chairman Eugene Seah and Executive Director
James Soh, along with Mr Andrew Chong, Chairman
of the ITE Board of Governors, and CEO Low Khah
Gek, joined the Minister of State for Education and
Minister of State for Manpower at a French dinner
created by Michelin Star Chef Mr Davy Tissot.
NYAA presented Mr Galen Tan Yi Hung, an NYAA
Gold Awardee, who represented NYAA at the 2019
International Swiss Talent Forum. The theme for the
dinner was the World Food System.
