LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
• NYAA Leadership Programme for Females
in the Sultanate of Oman
The NYAA’s Youth Leadership Programme has
greatly benefited youth leaders in Singapore and
internationally. At the invitation of Lahunna Oman,
NYAA Singapore provided a trainer for Oman’s
Youth Leadership Development Programme. A
Memorandum of Understanding was signed between
Lahunna Oman and the National Youth Achievement
Award of Singapore by Ms Shatha Al Maskiry, Founder
of Lahunna Oman, and Mr James Soh, Executive
Director of the National Youth Achievement Award
Council of Singapore.
Dr Charles Phua, an NYAA Gold Award holder and
Chief Executive Officer of Solaris Strategies Singapore,
conducted the training programme in the Sultanate
of Oman. The programme was broadcast on Oman
National TV in 2023, highlighting NYAA’s dedication
to fostering leadership among Omani women and
enhancing the people-to-people relations between
Oman and Singapore.
• Luncheon with Swiss Ambassador for
Singapore Youth Representative to
ISTF2023
NYAA selected Mr Samuel Tay En, an NYAA Gold Award
holder from Temasek Junior College, to represent
Singapore at the 12th International Swiss Talent
Forum (ISTF) 2023. Before departing for Switzerland
in February 2023, in January, Mr Tay was honored at
a luncheon hosted at the Swiss Club by His Excellency
Frank Grütter, the Swiss Ambassador to Singapore.
During the luncheon, Ambassador Grütter
presented Mr Tay with a Certificate of Recognition
to acknowledge his outstanding achievement and
representation of Singapore at the prestigious
forum. This event highlighted NYAA’s commitment to
nurturing young leaders and fostering international
exchange opportunities that empower youth to excel
globally.
• 12th International Swiss Talent Forum 2023
Mr Samuel Tay En, an NYAA Gold Award holder from
Temasek Junior College, was selected to represent
Singapore at the 12th International Swiss Talent
Forum (ISTF) 2023, held in Lausanne, Switzerland, in
February 2023. The ISTF is an annual event attended
by Science Award recipients from the 27 European
Union nations. The forum’s theme, “Circular
Economy,” encouraged participants to develop
solutions to the challenges of a non-sustainable
linear economy.
NYAA was proud that Mr Tay and his team were
selected to present their solutions at the Closing
Ceremony.
