• Visit by Mr Jimmy Wales, Founder of
Wikipedia
NYAA facilitated a visit by Mr Jimmy Wales, Founder
of Wikipedia, to Singapore in August 2023 for the
World Wikimania Conference. During his visit, NYAA
organised an “In Conversation with Jimmy Wales”
on a river cruise attended by 40 guests, a Leadership
Forum at the UBS Auditorium attended by 300
guests, and a luncheon for supporters at the Tower
Club, Republic Plaza. NYAA was honoured to host the
founder of Wikipedia during his visit.
• Visit by the Asian Institute of Management,
Philippines
A delegation of postgraduate students from the Asian
Institute of Management (AIM) and government
officials from the City of Makati, Philippines, visited
Singapore in September 2023. The delegation
attended a presentation at the NYAA Secretariat on
NYAA's leadership development and a presentation
on the Smart Nation concept by the Regional Director
of the Meinhardt Group. The delegates appreciated
the insights and information provided by NYAA and
Meinhardt Group.
• Founder of 21 Bridges, Indonesia
21 Bridges, founded by Ms. Kristi Ardiana, an APEC
Voices of the Future alumna from Indonesia, prepares
young leaders from the 21 APEC Member Economies
for the challenges of a fast-changing world. NYAA
Executive Director, who chairs the APEC Voices
Leadership Council, is an advisor to 21 Bridges via the
APEC Platform.
• Visit by Chief of Staff of Destinus
Ms Daria Fedorova, Vice-President of Destinus, a
European aerospace company, visited Singapore,
Indonesia, and Brunei for business discussions with
the Republic of Singapore Air Force and Brunei
Investment Agency. During her visit, NYAA Executive
Director James Soh, who chairs the APEC Voices
Leadership Council, welcomed Ms. Fedorova, a key
APEC Voices youth leader from Russia.
• Visit of the Management Team from China
Daily
In April 2023, the NYAA Executive Director met with a
China Daily Asia Pacific delegation at the NUAA Guild
House @ Suntec for a dinner hosted by Mr. Argus
Ang, Managing Director of RV International. During
the meeting, the NYAA Executive Director highlighted
the strong collaboration between NYAA and China,
facilitated through various channels such as the
Chinese Embassy in Singapore and the China Council
for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT),
particularly regarding the APEC Leaders Program.
NYAA expressed a warm welcome for continued
support and collaboration with China.
