churchgoers are allowed to perform and

occupy the “limelight” — and even join the

church — they negatively influence by

their unChristlike behavior and worldly

lifestyle those who are truly born again and

desire to live a godly life.

When I was a new Christian, I had a strong

desire for very high standards in my

Christian walk, but because there were so

many in the church who discouraged those

high standards, both verbally and by

example, I began to suppress my Spirit-led

convictions and follow their example, not

realizing at that time that those who were

discouraging me may not have even been

born again — and nobody in the church

alerted me of that possibility, not even the
