there can be no genuine Christian fellowship



              if  Christ  and  God’s  Word  are  left  out  of



              conversations.




              And when a person joins a church, it seems


              to  be  expected  that  he  or  she  adopt  and



              participate  in  the  programs  and  activities



              that are decided upon by the church leaders


              —  and  often  without  any  input  from  the



              laity.  And even if an item is voted on by


              the congregation, the “ballots” are usually



              cast by a public raise of the hand or a verbal



              yes or no, making it very difficult to vote


              one’s conscience and convictions when you



              know  your  vote  will  be  in  the  minority.



              And once these programs, projects, and/or


              activities  are  implemented,  it  is  expected



              that they be supported despite a person’s
