Christians and who are faithfully involved

in church life?

Unqualified Pastors and Leaders

Surely God would never expect Christians to

blindly submit to the authority of biblically

and spiritually unqualified pastors and

church leaders. Yet while most pastors

qualify by man’s standards for their

position as shepherds over God’s flock

(e.g., education, intellect, personality),

many of them fall short of qualifying by

God’s standards as outlined in 1 Timothy 3

and Titus 1. In the book of Acts, Stephen,

one of the first church deacons, was said to
