And involvement in an abundance of

church programs and activities can take

away from family life, both physically and

emotionally. When I was a new Christian,

I became very involved in church life, and

although my husband claimed to be a

Christian, he was not attending church with

me and our children at that time. I question

now whether it was God’s will that I

devoted so much of my time and energy to

the church programs (which were mostly

for entertainment and fun) at the expense of

the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs

of my family. I could have given that same

time and energy to serve the Lord by
