5 Cleaning activities are to be carried out from
ground level only, use of ladders is
prohibited.
6 Acid based chemicals should not be used in
windy conditions where there is a likelihood
of solution blowing back onto the operative.
7 Any splashing of acid onto skin and eyes
must be washed off immediately with large
quantities of water. Refer to COSHH file.
(Seek Immediate Medical Attention)
8 Any significant spillages should be managed
using either the site spill kit or sand – refer to
site emergency response plan.
9 When cleaning with a brush, always hold the brush at arms length so solution does
not drain back to your body.
10 Ensure drum is rotating towards you to prevent acid being taken up and becoming
airborne.
11 Any left-over chemical product must be disposed of after use by dilution into the
wedge / water pit

Drum mixer vehicle controls
You must be familiar with all the controls of the vehicle to operate it safely:
✓ Drum Mixer Controls
✓ Warning lights and buzzers
✓ Reversing Camera/Bleeper/Auto Brake
Please ensure that you have read and understood the vehicle
operators manual stored in the vehicle cab
