The family first moved into a temporary received their education through the

inheritance, which fell to Mrs. Le Gras. But
not much later they lived again in the same
plight as before.
In 1910 the family was “finished”, and
August again got the itch in the legs: he
resumed his travels to North Africa. In
general, he stayed away for three months
and then stayed home for another three
months. He never came back empty-
handed. In addition to the completed
paintings and drawings he brought all kind
of things with him. Sometimes it was
Sloughis again, other times he imported
Arabic stallions for relations and also Artis Father and Mother Le Gras with daughter “Bird” and
could regularly enjoy his imports. Due to Sloughi dog (family album)
the war conditions, the trips stopped in
1914.
