Ready for the hunt with sighthounds in Tunisia, 2 Sloughis have
cropped ears.

Els Siebel’s comment: some years ago I visited, together with my Sloughi friend Reina Bijleveld
(PWCA Mohamed Sidi) her second cousin Pascal Le Gras….. He lived in Gouda in those days. We
did not have mobile phones then. From some other room he fetched 2 paintings, one drawing and
an etching, of his grandfather, yes August.
We almost fainted!! He did not know that they were so special. The etching was superb! It was a
Sloughi head and the drawing was a complete Sloughi, also very special. I could not take my eyes
off them.
After our visit he hung the etching in his living room.
And in the office building of the Dutch Kennel Club there are numerous beautiful paintings.
Amongst them… yes, a real Le Gras…. Not big, the same size as the ones with Pascal, about an A4.
But so beautiful!!! And again, the person working in that office had no idea…

children, St. Nicolaas gives them presents if they have behaved well during the passed year.
