to keep your target in one quadrant by cutting off
their movement.
1. Begin in the center of the ring. Perceive your target
stepping or moving to your right.
2. Take a step to the right with your right foot. Make sure
that your step is wide enough so that your foot is on the
outside of your perceived target’s outermost foot. Adjust
your left foot to bring yourself back into your neutral stance.
3. To add challenge to this exercise, throw a right hook as
you step to the right to inhibit your perceived target from
escaping.
4. Once your right foot steps to the outside of your
perceived target’s outermost foot, maintain control within
the quadrant by pivoting on your rear foot to facilitate your
lead foot lining up with your perceived target’s center line.
In other words, you want to make sure that your lead foot is
splitting your perceived target into two equal halves.
5. Perceive your target stepping or moving to your left.
