4. Lower your left elbow toward your hip to protect your
                body. Make sure that your left hand is tightly pressed
                against your chin. Follow up with a counter left uppercut and

                straight punch with your right hand.

                Make sure there is minimal distance between your elbow,
                forearm, and lateral aspect of your waist when catching a
                punch. Do not reach away from your head or body to catch

                punches. This is counterproductive, as it would create
                distance between the elbow, forearm, and lateral aspect of
                your waist; if an incoming punch is powerful enough it could
                overpower your forearm, driving it backward and causing

                you to strike yourself.
