CAPPING AND PINNING CEREMONY, AFFILIATION, AND GRADUATION
CAPPING AND PINNING CEREMONY
A Level II student can participate in the Capping and Pinning Ceremony of The College of Nursing
if he/she has passed all his/her subjects in the first year Summer. He/she must be doing satisfactorily in
his/her nursing subjects in the current semester. Capping and pinning is scheduled at the early month of
the 1 semester.

Summer Affiliation
1. A Level III student must have passed all his/her nursing subjects in both the first and second
semester, completed all the number of hours required for RLE (Related Learning Experience) and
submitted all prescribed requirements to qualify him/her to join the summer afflation.
2. A student who gets sick or for any other valid reason is unable to join the orientation in any of the
affiliate hospitals shall not be allowed to have his/her duty in the said hospital. If another batch of
ISU students shall have the orientation in the said hospital, the student can join them and shall be
allowed to have his/her duty provided he/she seeks permission from his/her level coordinator or
clinical instructor. If otherwise, the student will join the summer affiliation the next school year
3. A student who is pregnant during summer shall not be permitted to join the summer affiliation.
Clinical Graduation and University Graduation
A Level IV student must have passed all his subjects and meet all the academic requirements
including RLE from Levels I to IV to qualify for the University graduation. A student with failure or
incomplete grades in the general education subjects can join the Clinical Graduation provided he/she
passed all/her nursing subjects.
Requirements for Graduation
1. For Regular students:
a. Completion of all academic requirements and subjects including NSTP.
b. No outstanding financial and/or other obligations to the school. For this purpose, a clearance is
secured from the proper school authorities.
2. For Transferees and Working students:
a. Provisions shall apply (for regular students.)
Academic Honors
1. To qualify for academic honors for graduation the following conditions must be met:
a. Required weighted average of grades from first year to fourth year is at least 90%.
b. No grades below 85% for Cum Laude, 89% for Magna Cum Laude, and 95% for Summa Cum
Laude, including P.E. but except for NSTP whether taken in other schools and / or in other
course(s) form which the student shifted.
c. For full-time students, full load according to the semestral curricular offering; for working
students, full load minus one (1) subject.
d. Resident of at least two years in ISU.
