]16[ It is forbidden to eat before shaking lulav. If he forgot and remembered in

the middle of his meal, then on the first day [he must stop]; since the first day is a
Torah obligation and he began eating when it was forbidden to do so. He must stop
eating even though there is plenty of time left in the day; as is the halacha regarding

any Torah obligation that if one began eating when it was forbidden, he must stop.
On the other days, however, [since] the obligation is only rabbinic, if there is enough
time left in the day, he is not required to stop, but can finish eating his meal and then
shake the lulav. If one was travelling and was hoping to arrive in a place where there
is a lulav, or if he lives in a rural area and was waiting for someone to bring him one
