These are:
• understanding the case

• identifying the core problem in the case
• Identify the Cause of the Problem
• analysing the issues in terms of the relevant theory

• exploring alternative solutions with in terms of
appropriate theory

• choosing the best solution
• Develop an implementation plan
• making recommendations for action.

Read the case again more slowly in a careful, detailed and
thorough manner making notes as you go. This second and

subsequent readings should aim to identify the places,
persons, activities, and contexts of the situation in addition

to what tools of analysis might be brought to bear when

building the analysis.

STEP 1: Read and Reread the Case
The first read of the case is simply a quick overview to

get a feel for the industry, the company, the people, and
the situation under examination keeping in mind
questions such as:

• Who
• What
• When

• Where
• How

• Why and
• Money, what is its significance
