                2.0 CITY PROFILE

                       Rishikesh  is  a pilgrimage  town in Dehradun  District of  the  Indian State
                       Uttarakhand,  about  45  km  from  Dehradun  in  the  southeast  part  of  the  State.
                       Rishikesh  and  Haridwar  are  the  first  “Twin  National  Heritage  Cities”  of  India.
                       Rishikesh is also popularly known as “Yoga Capital of the World”.

                       The city is known as the pilgrimage town and one of the holiest places of Hindus.

                       The  Ganga,  one  of  the  most  sacred  rivers  for  hindus  flows  through  Rishikesh.
                       There are several ancient and new temples along the bank of river in the city. The
                       city is also famous for Ayurvedic treatments.
                       Along with this, Rishikesh is also famous for adventurous games like river rafting
                       and bungee jumping.
