Page 9 - FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE; EXPLORING GOD’S UNIVERSE
P. 9
Many biblical characters, filled with God’s Spirit did great exploits.
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review the first lesson.
2. Talk about God as a Pioneer. Let the children suggest ways in which this is true.
Let them suggest biblical characters who were the first to do something because God told
them to do it, eg Noah, Abraham, Jonah, Moses, Joshua, Elijah.
3. Let the children work in groups to complete the Bible-search.
4. Gather back to share and discuss how we can also be pioneers if we have God’s Spirit within
us.
Discuss things which keep us from being pioneers, eg fears, previous experiences, shyness,
embarrassment, disobedience. Talk about the need to pray about these things and offer
prayer if it is appropriate.
5. End by thanking God for being a pioneering God. Pray for each other that his Spirit will
enable everyone to pioneer something for God.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will have a greater appreciation of God as a Pioneer.
2. They will hopefully have a desire to be pioneers themselves, recognising things which could
hold them back but realising that they can be overcome in God.
