Overview of Y2 Spring Term Part 1
God gives some people a particular gift in using words in a precise or apt way. He
may use them to write books, or advise people or serve as peace-makers.
7. Take time to pray together for wisdom is using correct words.
8. The children could choose some of these words and write a sentence for each one.
Draw the children’s attention to examples of people using interesting doing words - in
reading books, story-writing, conversation, etc.
Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
1. The children will be aware of, and encouraged to use, ‘interesting’ verbs rather than
more general or overused ones, with a particular focus on verbs other than ‘walked’
or ‘went’.
2. They should know that God is precise in his use of words.
3. The children should be encouraged to use words with precision and aptness.
