and try the third sentence themselves. Go over the correct answer together on the
board.

8. Gather. Many linking words are quite small – e.g. the/ in/ all/ it/ a - however they are
important. Some people might be small in size, or young in age, but each is an
important and valuable person in God’s eyes. Encourage the children to learn to love
and value each person in our natural family, class family, school family, team in PE,

prayer group, etc too. (This could be built on by taking time in an assembly to express
what the teacher and others appreciate about each person and for giving thanks for
each person.)

Learning for Life (Fulfillment)

1. The children should become aware of linking words (words other than naming words,
doing words and describing words) and to recognize these in sentences.

2. They should be reminded that God loves and values every person.

3. They should not despise other people but love and respect them.
