termination of employment.
Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
• Using threatening, intimidating, or abusive language or gestures.
• Bringing a weapon such as a handgun, rifle, knife, or switchblade into a GESMN facility.
• Injuring another person physically.
• Engaging in behavior that creates a reasonable fear of injury in another person.
• Engaging in behavior that subjects another individual to extreme emotional distress.
• Brandishing or using a weapon while on GESMN property or engaged in GESMN business.
• Intentionally damaging property.
• Threatening to injure an individual or damage property.
• Committing injurious acts motivated by, or related to, domestic violence or sexual
harassment.
• Stalking an employee, participant, volunteer, or customer.
• Publicizing gang affiliations.
Any person who verbally or physically threatens another, exhibits threatening behavior, or engages in
violent acts on GESMN property will be removed from the premises and will remain off the premises
pending the outcome of an investigation. If it is determined an employee has violated this policy,
GESMN will take appropriate disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
All Goodwill-Easter Seals employees must immediately notify their manager, Human Resources, or
Security of threats or acts of violence they have experienced, witnessed, or been told about. Retaliation
against an employee making a good faith report will not be tolerated.
Employees who obtain protection or restraining order that lists GESMN locations as protected sites are
encouraged to provide their manager and Human Resources with a copy of the order. This information
will be shared on a need-to-know basis only to protect the employee and those who work and/or visit
the employee’s employment place.

Goodwill-Easter Seals is very concerned about the safety and well-being of all employees, volunteers,
participants, and customers who work or visit any of our locations. We strive to provide employees with
a safe and healthy place to work and comply with applicable occupational health and safety laws.
Employees have a responsibility to:
• Adhere to safety policies or procedures that pertain to their specific job requirements.
• Follow all fire protection and prevention practices.
• Comply with all emergency procedures.
