To switch from the default PLAY “partition” of music to recorded audio press the B(-)
button. To return to MUSIC press the B(-) button again.

4.2 Turning off
The device is turned OFF by moving switch C right to the OFF position. The word “BYE”
will scroll across the DISPLAY to confirm a valid shutdown. Sometimes the device will close Page | 9
of its own accord and “BYE” does not appear. This indicates a fault and the device may not
reload.

If the device will not activate when the PLAY mode is selected, connect it to a USB power
source and it should reactivate.
It is good practice to let the recorder continue for two to three minutes after voice audio has
stopped. This will give you a profile of ambient noise that can be “deducted” from recording
to enhance it. (see paragraph xx).
4.3 Entering a password
You will only be asked to enter a password when the SETTINGS MAIN MENU xx has been
configured to “ON” (see paragraph xx);
• The default password is 0000 and it is stored in memory: even when it has not been
programmed to DISPLAY;

• If the DISPLAY shows “Enter Password”:

• Press the A(+) button to enter the first digit of the password in the left-hand box
using the B(-) button. By default, enter the digit “0”;

• Press the A(+) button to move to the second box and A(+) to scroll to the correct
digit;

• Then press the B(-) button to enter it. The cursor will move to the next box;

• Continue using B(-) and A (+) until the password has been entered in full;

• When the four boxes have been filled, check that the password is correct then press
the B(-) button to enter-register it and the device should initialize in the PLAY mode:

• If you have entered an incorrect digit [and discovered the error before completing
the password and finally pressing B(-) button] scroll through the password box using
the A(+) button and make the correction using the B(-) button and A(+) to enter it.
When all four digits have been entered correctly press the B(-) button;
• If the password is correct, access will be granted: otherwise you will be asked to try
again;

Three incorrect attempts and the device will close. However, you can switch it back ON and
start afresh. There appears to be no limit to the number of attempts.
