(o) Oversees the implementation of activities related to holistic student development such as
co-curricular activities, seminars and workshop, conferences, convocations and similar
activities as approved by the School President;
(p) Meets with college’s faculty, instructors, staff, and students on academic and non-
academic questions and problems;
(q) Submits periodic reports to the School Director; and
(r) Performs other functions as mandated by the School Director or the School President.
Coordinates with: Student Affairs Office, GCO, School Nurse, Registrar, HRDMO,
Safety and Security Officer, Property Custodian, Facility Services Supervisor, Technical Support
and other services staff.
C. Program Head
The Program Head is designated to focus on the specific needs of a specific program or
course. He/she shall be appointed by the School President upon the recommendation of the
Dean for a term of one (1) year and may be re-appointed for another term. The position reports
directly to the College Dean.
Duties and Responsibilities
(a) Initiates the development and/or revision of the curricular content; conducts planning
sessions with the faculty members on curricular concerns submits outputs to the Dean for
review.
(b) Recommends the development and/or the selection acquisition of textbooks, reference
books, workbooks, and other instructional materials for use in the department.
(c) Provides direction to the faculty members on the preparation of the course syllabi; ensures
standardization and uniformity of course content and pedagogic methodology among
faculty members teaching the same subject.
(d) Interviews and evaluates student transferees, returning students and those cross-enrolling
to establish credits; interviews incoming freshmen seeking reconsideration of application
for enrollment; submits recommendations through the Dean to the Office of the Registrar.
(e) Advises students on subject sequence, pre-requisite courses, electives and student loading
during the enrollment period and on change or dropping of subjects, shifting to another
course of the academic term.
(f) Provides academic counseling to students to assists them in improving their academic
performance; provides initial guidance on discipline and decorum concerns.
(g) Organizes / approves departmental co-curricular activities including seminars and
specialized learning sessions.
(h) Assist in the recruitment of applicants and recommends to the superior officers pre-
qualified applicants to fill vacant and new positions in the department; makes
recommendation on personnel transactions such as change of employment status,
transfers, designations, and disengagement.
(i) Prepares and recommends class schedules and the assignment of faculty load for the
dean’s approval.
