AN ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION
AMENDING AR-88-7 PURSUAN'r TO SECTION 4-5-C
OF THE PERSONNEL RULES PERTAINING TO ON-CALL PAY
Seciion 1. Eliaibility.
All regular employees not fonually exempted from overtime pay by
administrative regulation are eligible for on-call pay. Employees shall
not be granted on-call pay except by inclusion on a written on-call
schedule approved by the appropriate department head. On-call pay is
normally associated with labor trades personnel who must respond to
emergencies in their areas of expertise.
Section 2. Purpose .
on-call pay is a method of compensating employees for the inconvenience
of having to stay in a geographic area where they can be reached and in
physical condition to perform the duties that may be required.
Section_,.L Employee Respoo-sibility .
It is the employee's responsibility to be able to immediately a11d
effectively perform the duties required when on-call . If an employee is
lnable, through illness, emergency, or any other reason to carry out on-
..:all responsibiliti.es and the employee fails to notify his supervisor of
the situation, then the employee may he subject to disciplinary action.
~ection 4. on-call Payment.
On-call payments shall be granted according to the following schedule:
