Granite State Whitetails Chapter Banquet to be Held on February 18th

Skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling are favorite winter activities in New Hampshire. Still, a select few have also found another great way to spend the snowy months: sled dogging, and among those hardy outdoors adventurers are Brittany Col- bath and her husband, Lee Van Dorp of Franklin.
Brittany, a veterinary doc- tor at Rockingham Emer- gency Vet Clinic, comes by the sport naturally.
Sled dog racing has been part of winter excitement in Central New Hampshire since 1929. As the sport grew in later years, her uncle, Keith Bryar II, was instrumental in the promotion of sled dog- ging in New Hampshire and began schooling his niece in the sport when she was just a child. Although Keith passed away from cancer in Febru- ary of 2016, his legacy lives on through Brittany and her team of sled dogs.

The only time Brittany took off from her uncle’s years of training was when she was at Tufts University to com- plete her doctorate degree in

The Granite State White- tails Chapter Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 18th, at the Franklin Elks Lodge! The New Hampshire Granite State Whitetails is a chapter of Whitetails Unlimited, and they are ready to hold their second banquet to raise funds. The New Hampshire Chapter started around the end of 2019, but as soon as 2020 rolled around, their plans were severely interrupted by COVID-19.
