5. Manager’s Signature

Managers must sign all tabs before they can be turned in to the bartender.
Manager checks your paper work. It is best to get a Manager signature as
you open tabs. **If the guest leaves and your paperwork is not complete
and signed off by a Manager you may be held accountable for the tab
balance if there is a dispute!**

Should the card be declined for any reason go back to the guest and
discreetly ask for another form of payment.

                       EXAMPLE:
                       1. ALWAYS explain to our guest that the billing name will be Bavaria Inn
Restaurant. We only accept cards with a chip. If the chip doesn’t read,
they must come up with another form of payment.
                       2. Get driver’s license & credit card and make sure they match.

                       3. Pay close attention to all credit cards. If a card reaches it’s maximum it
will decline and you will have to ask for another form of payment. DO
NOT bring the customer anything else if card has been declined.
Anything you bring on the tab that the customer can't pay for you are
                           responsible for.
                       4. Make a manual imprint of the credit card.
                       5. Write down type of ID, state, and number on imprint. Write down
security code. Make sure all numbers are legible
                       6. If the guest is only paying for that round. Give credit card and ID
                           back to customer.
. 7. If the guests would like to keep the tab open, have the guest sign the
imprint and return the card and ID at the close of the tab.
**Getting the signature early saves you from being responsible for
the charges if the guest leaves without signing the final tab.
                       8. When customer is ready to close, print 2 copies. Make sure to scratch the
authorization out on both copies. The waitress keeps the signed
copy to turn in to the bartender when closing tab. Credit Cards are to
be run on the CC machine. Print the CC slip and have the guest sign
the cc slip NOT the Aloha slip. Return the guest’s card and ID. Go
back to the CC machine and enter your tip.
                        9. Give the imprint, the Aloha printout, and the signed CC slip to the
bartender to close. Make sure the CC slip is on top.
