that you are my followers if you have loved one for another. There is no greater
love than this when a man lays down his life for the sake of his friends. You are
my friends if you do everything that I command you. I have not called you
servants because a servant does not know what his master does. I have always
called you my friend. Everything that I heard from my Father I made it known to
you. You did not choose me but I chose you and separated you from the World. I
have appointed you that you also should go and produce fruit. Remember the
word witch I said to you that no student is great than his Teacher.
My Father has loved me I also loved you remain in my love. If you keep my
commandments you will remain in my love. I have kept my Fathers
commandments and I remain in his love. What so ever you ask my Father in my
name he will give it to you.
They brought to him the blind the lamb and the sick and he healed them all.
When evening came he went out to Bethany with the twelve apostils.
Jesus came to Bethany where Lazar was whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
They gave him a banquet there. Martha and Marry served but Lazar was one of
the guests who were with him. Many people of the Jews heard that Jesus was
there so they came not only on account of Jesus but to see Lazar whom he had
raised from the dead. On his account a great many Jews were leaving and
believing in Jesus. They lodged there for the night.
The Fig Tree
The next day when they went out of Bethany on their way to Jerusalem Jesus
became hungry and at a distance he saw a fig tree on the road side. He came to
it to see if he could find anything on it. He found nothing except leaves. He said
to it from now and forever let no man eat of your fruit. The followers heard these
words. As the multitude of the followers began to gather around Jesus some
went ahead to Jerusalem. A large crowd which had come to the feast heard that
Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. The followers that had gone ahead told the
people of the wonders he performed on sick people. They testified that he had
called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead. It was on this
account that large crowds went out to meet him because they heard that he had
performed this miracle. They took branches of palm trees and went to greet him.
They cried out and said blessed is the King of Israel who comes in the name of
the Lord. The Pharisees said one to another do you see that we have not been
able to gain anything? All the people have gone after him and to see Lazarus.
The high priests were thinking of killing Lazar also.
