the night comes when no man can work. As long as I am in the world I am the
light of the world. When he said these words he spat on the ground and mixed
clay with his saliva and he placed it on the eyes of the blind man. Then he said to
him go and wash in the baptismal pool of Shiloh. He went and washed his eyes
and he came up seeing. His neighbors and those who had seen him before
begging said is not he the one who used to sit down and beg? Some said it is he
and some said no but he resembles him. He said to them I am he. Then they
said to him how were your eyes opened? He said a man whose name is Jesus
made clay and placed it on my eyes. He said to me go and wash in the water of
Shiloh. I went and washed and came up seeing. They said to him where is he?
He said to them I do not know. They brought to the Pharisees him who had been
blind from his birth. Now it was the Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and
opened his eyes. The Pharisees asked him how you received your sight. He said
to them Jesus placed clay on my eyes I washed and I see. The Pharisees said
this man is not from God because he does not observe the Sabbath. Others said
how can a man who is a sinner do these miracles? There was a division among
them. They said to the blind man again what do you say concerning him who
opened your eyes? He said to them I say he is a prophet. The Jews did not
believe concerning him that he had been blind and had received his sight. They
called the parents of him who had received his sight. They asked them is this
your son who you say was born blind? How then does he now see? His parents
said we know that he is our son and that he was born blind. How he sees now or
who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age you need to ask him. He will
speak for himself. His parents said these things because they were afraid of the
Jews. The Jews had decided already that if any man should confess that he is
the Christ they would put him out of the Synagogue. This was the reason his
parents said he is of age ask him. They called a second time the man who had
been blind and said to him give praise to God. We know that this man Jesus is a
sinner. He said to them if he is a sinner I do not know. I do know one thing that I
was blind and now I see. They said to him again what did he do to you? How did
he open your eyes? He said to them I have already told you. You did not listen
why do you want to hear it again? What! Do you also want to become his
followers? Then they cursed him and said to him you are a follower of him. We
are disciples of Moses. We know that the Word spoke with Moses but as for this
man we do not know where he comes from. The man said to them this is
surprising that you do not know where he comes from. He opened my eyes that I
may see. We know that God does not hear the voice of sinners. He hears the
one who reveres him and walks in his Will. From ages it has never been heard
that a man opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this man were not from
God he could not have done this. They said to him you were wholly born in sins
and do you teach us? They cast him out. Jesus heard that they had cast him out.
He found him and said to him do you believe in the Word of God? He who was
healed said to him who is he my Lord. I will believe in him? Jesus said to him you
have seen him. He is the one who is speaking with you. He said I do believe my
Lord. He fell down and worshipped him. His followers lifted him up. Then Jesus
