God. Jesus said to him now you believe because you have seen me. Blessed are
those who have not seen me and have believed. He spoke to them many things
and said to them all power in heaven and on earth has been given me. Just as
my Father has sent me I am also sending you. Wonders will follow those who
believe these issues. In my name you will cast out evil men, deceivers shall not
impair you. If you drink any poison of death, it will not deaden you. You will lay
your hands on the sick and they will recover. You will heal the lamb; the maimed;
the blind and those who cannot hear. It is not you who will heal but the Holy Spirit
working with you shall heal. He ate bread with them and then commanded them
wait for the promises of the Father. The one you have heard from me. John
baptized with water. You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit many days from
today. He taught and instructed his apostles and followers about the kingdom of
God. While they were assembled he said to them obey everything that I have
commanded you. The Holy Spirit will come upon you. Then you shall receive
power. You shall be witness to me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea also the
province of Samaria then unto the uttermost part of the earth. Converting all
nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit.
Net of Fish
After these issues Jesus showed himself again to his disciples by the Sea of
Galilee. He strengthened them in this way. They were all together Simon Peter,
Thomas, Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, James and John and two other of his
apostles. Peter said to them I am going to catch fish. They said to him we also
will come with you. So they went to the sea and went up into the boat and that
nigh they caught nothing. When morning came Jesus stood by the sea side and
the apostles did not know that it was Jesus. So Jesus said to them have you got
anything to eat? They said to him, no. He said to them throw your net on the right
side of the boat and you will catch fish. They threw the net to the right side of the
boat. As they began to draw in the net because of the many fishes which it had
caught they struggled. Then the apostle who Jesus loved said to Peter that is our
Lord. When Peter heard that it was our Lord he took his cloak and girded it
around his waist because he was naked. He jumped into the sea to come to
Jesus but the other apostles came by boat. They were not very far from land
about a hundred yards and they were dragging the net of fishes. When they
landed they saw burning coals set and a fish laid on them and bread. Jesus said
to them bring some of the fish which you have now caught. Peter went up and
drew the net to land full of large fishes one hundred and fifty-three. In spite of this
weight the net did not break. Jesus said to them come, break your fast. Not one
of the apostles dared to ask him who he was. They knew he was our Lord. They
had broken their fast. Then Jesus drew near and took the bread and fish and
gave thank then gave to them. Jesus said to Peter, Peter do you love me more
