follow me to Galilee. As he went up and out of the grave Peter stood at the feet
and John at the head where the body of Jesus had lain.
Now Mary of Magdala and the other women told the other apostles and followers
all these issues that they had seen. These words appeared in their eyes as a
delusion and they did not believe them. They did not yet understand from the
scripture that he had to rise from the dead. Mary of Magdala went out from them
and went back to the grave. While the apostles prayed over these things that
they themselves might understand what was spoken to them by the women. As
Mary came near the grave opening she stood weeping and looked into the grave
and saw two angels in white standing one at the head and the other at the feet
where the body of Jesus had lain. They said to her woman why do you weep?
She said to them, they have taken away my Lord and I do not know where they
have laid him. Jesus said to her woman why do you weep? She turned around
because the voice was from behind her as she turned and saw Jesus standing
but she did not recognize that it was him. She thought he was the gardener. He
said to her why are you here? So she said to him my Lord if you are the one who
has taken him away till me where you have laid him and I will go and take him
away.

Jesus said to her Mary! She had stopped weeping and could see clearly that it
was Jesus. She said to him my Teacher! Jesus said go to my brethren and say to
them I have risen and am alive for evermore. Mary left straightway and brought
glad tidings to his followers in the upper room at Jerusalem and said I have seen
our Teach and that he had told her these issues. Straightway they rose up and
went to the grave. As they came near the grave they saw that the stone had
been rolled away and they then entered. They were amazed and wondered if all
that they had heard was true. Then a voice was heard and they bowed their
faces to the ground. The voice was that of Peter saying Men of Galilee you seek
Jesus the Galilean who was crucified he is not here but has gone on to a
mountain in Galilee of which he told us all that after he had risen he would be in
Galilee before us. They looked up and saw Peter and John standing in the
entrance they rejoiced but wondered how can this be? Peter said you see the
place where he laid. Remember that he spoke to you while he was in Galilee
saying that the Son of man had to be delivered into the hands of sinful men and
be crucified, and rise again on the third day. They remembered these words.
Then Peter said that he will be before you in Galilee in the house on the
mountain there you will see him. They were seized with amazement and went up
and out of the grave on their way to a lonely desert place in Galilee. They did not
salute any man on the way except to his known followers to them they made
mention he is alive.
