C.2.3.1 Operation Control Procedure – Chlorine

               Chlorine Drum Fitting
                   a) Workers are advised to wear a full chlorine gas face mask with the cartridge
                       filter before starting the task.
                   b) Remove the drum cover and reposition the drum where the valve is position
upright. The top valve will release chlorine gas and the bottom valve release
                       liquid chlorine.
                   c) Loosen up the nut cover for the top valve and remove it manually.
                   d) During the loosen up of the nut cover, a gas leak test will be conducted by
using the ammonia solution. Gas leakage can occur when the drum valve is
not securely tightened. Tighten up the spindle valve if leakage is detected.
                   e) Install a custom connector on the drum. Make sure the coupling is dry and
clean. Use a new gasket each time when making a connection.
                   f) Tighten up the nut and perform gas leak tests by using the ammonia solution.
                   g) Close the valve. If no gas leakage is detected, the chlorine drum is ready to
                       be used.

               Chlorination Operation

There are four (4) chlorinators installed in both KT1 & KT2 Chlorination Room
whereby two chlorinators are dedicated for Pre-Chlorination and two chlorinators for
               Post Chlorination.

Apart from the built-in automatic control system of the chlorinators and the automatic
drum valve shut off system (Chlorguard), the Chlorination Room control systems
