C.2.4 Inspection, Testing, and Preventive Maintenance
Inspection, testing, corrective/preventive maintenance, and other specific
integrity management program for ensuring the integrity of safety-critical
equipment or controls
C.2.4.1 Inspection and Maintenance
In order to ensure the HSE standards within the facilities are maintained, Workplace
Inspection Procedure (SAJ-HSE-P-39) are established. The company has
implemented a Safety Checklist system for use during safety inspections. The Plant
Superintendent of the water treatment plants will conduct the quarterly safety
inspection. In addition, the supplier of Chlorine conducts periodic on-site audits on
chlorine facilities.
Approved contractors are engaged to inspect Fire Fighting Equipment and Fire
Protection Systems annually. All inspection checklists and reports are monitored and
discussed during Safety & Health Committee meeting.
Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) of the plant was established. The objective
of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is to prolong the life of the plant,
and avoid operational disruption by minimising breakdowns by the most economical
