The Company maintenance performance is monitored periodically as far as
practicable. Non-routine or unplanned maintenance tasks are subject to hazard
analysis and risk management processes.
C.2.5 Safety Audit and Inspection Programs
Internal OHMS Audit Procedure (SAJ-IMS-P-44) to ensure Safety and Health
performance in RSAJ is generally evaluated by internal audit activities where cross
audits are held among the site. With the assistance of the external consultant, the
company has developed their Internal Safety Audit programme to carry out safety
audits once a year since the company operated as Syarikat Air Johor.
The Management System auditing techniques (extracted from Safety Manual) are
used to facilities the examination of internal practices and procedures that are
essential parts of the operating environment. These examinations address only the
physical aspects of safety and health in the workplace. The main objective is to
minimize accidents and risk through systematic audit activities.
The audits apply to every workplace within the RSAJ organization. Among those
identified workplaces are all water treatment plants, workshops and RSAJ offices.
The audit program will be led by the Safety and Health Manager with the assistance
of Safety and Health Committee members. An audit report is produced after each
audit exercise.
C.2.6 Management of Change
Management of Change procedure (SAJ-HSE-P-30) are in place to ensure any
modification work at the plant and its equipment meet RSAJ requirements. Currently
the personnel in charge for modification of changes in the installation is the Plant
Superintendent/district M&E Superintendent.
C.2.6.1 General Change
Plant and system modification, whether temporary or permanent, is a continuous
activity to:
• Meet the latest Occupational Safety & Health standards;
• Maintain or improve the reliability and availability of the facility;
• Increase the quantities of products of production in the event of an increase
in demand; and
• Reduce the costs of operating and maintaining the facility.
