Ranhill SAJ Sdn. Bhd. Revision 01
Part C: Information Relating to the Safety Management System Date Aug 2019

If this is not possible, hazards must be controlled at the level of the worker through
the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), although this is the least desirable
               control.

                                                                  Elimination

                                                                     Substitution

                                                                        Isolation

                                                                           Engineering Control

                                                                               Administrative Control

                                                                                  Personal Protective Equipment

                                                      Hierarchy of Control

               Implementation

The Company ensures proper implementation and monitor the efficacy of the risk
management program. This allows the ongoing assessment of the efficacy of the
controls according to the purposes and the needs. This will usually involve a
reporting structure of the high-risk items for the management to review and taking a
continuous effort to address and reduce the level of risk, and also addressing new or
               emerging risks.

               C.2.8.2 Risk Management Tools

The Company adopted the DOSH Risk Assessment Matrix, which is a semi‐
quantitative tool for assessing risk by estimating the likelihood of occurrence and
severity of consequences. The matrix is a 5 x 5 matrix divided into 3 distinct risk
bands or levels i.e. low, medium, and high.

The risk categories are divided into:
                   •  Health and Safety;
                   • Environmental; and
                   • Asset.

Severity is estimated by taking into account the following.
   186   187   188   189   190   191   192   193   194   195   196
