In suddenly, Nguyen met Hoa Xuan on the Thong-Nhat
boulevard sidewalks at the new year luna, while the top of the
flamboyant trees was green under the warm sun, and her long
white flaps were playing with the light wind on her curve
narrow. Her long dark hairs run on her back as Nguyen-Thi-
Dung to attract Nguyen’s eyes of the first look. He kept a short
distance and quiet to follow her

every evening on the sidewalk until she stopped and turned
back to look at him in smiling.

She was a student of Hung-Duc high school, which located
in the Catholic military Church area at the end of Thong-Nhat
boulevard, closed the Thong-Nhat public park and Mr. Huan’s
coffee plantation.

The green grass, large foot trees and colorful flower
sidewalks in the Thong-Nhat public park became the place for
Nguyen waiting for Hoa Xuan at each early sunset. Thong-Nhat
boulevard sidewalks with the red flowers of the flamboyant in
the Summer was the romantic place for them walking side by
side until Nguyen got in the Air-Force training center camp in
Nha Trang city.

The soft tender love of the student age had burned and lost
in the flame of war as the youth carried their love in their souls
to go to the war with the suffering, painful and afraid.

The youth had gotten the training as the machine for killing,
and their arms hold the rifles instead for their lovers. They heard
the sound of bombs and yells of hate more than they heard the
soft words of the same humanity. They hold their dead friend
bodies on the battle and cry in blood more than they hold their
lover with hot kissing.

Nguyen will be one of the young soldiers for the war and
nothing more to choose. He will learn to kill the people that his
