“Rhythm rules!” But JoJo’s less than sasfied, knowing that something’s “missing” –

it’s like she’s hearing an unfinished song.

The Bandits swoop in and threaten to disrupt the proceedings by aempng to steal
back the Mysc Score from our heroes in mid-performance, but get comically way-
laid. The Claerpillars now march in perfect unison with the Mysc Score, making

the beat even more powerful; BOOGIEWOOGIES are seen waking from hibernaon,
cute and sleepy-eyed, beginning to sway and ready to party when …

The power of the Rhythm subsides as the Claerpillars stop – their purpose
revealed, as they all gather and begin the process of COCOONING THEMSELVES (cool

in an icky/gross way!). BadBeard tries to interfere, but only manages to get tripped
up in the icky scky substance – and wind ups cocooned!

As the Claerpillars complete their cocooning process, the remainder of the Mysc
Score – the MELODY – is revealed to be ETCHED into the weave of the finished

cocoons (much like the Rhythm was etched into the veins of the leafy frond). The
final piece of the puzzle, revealed by nature!

As Arena 51 alights down from among the treetops via remote, our heroes abandon
their drum circle to “strap on and plug in” – playing the melody they see before them

(a inspiraonal South American pop song with strong percussive element). As the
melody, rhythm and song increase in power and energy, the BoogieWoogies join in
and DANCE ALONG as the MAGIC OF THE MYSTIC SCORE IS REVEALED: SENSE OF
WONDER AS THE COCOONS SPARKLE WITH MAGICAL ENERGY WHICH CAUSES THEM
TO “HATCH,” RELEASING A FLEET OF ‘FLUTTERFLIES’ (giant buerflies whose

wing-paerns form Clefs and other musical notaon).

The music performed and the concert over, the AmpliFinder informs our heroes that
balance to the region has now been restored: without music, the Claerpillars
couldn’t undergo metamorphosis so the forest became overpopulated with them.

But now the FLUTTERFLIES will pollinate the jungle as they naturally do, allowing the
foliage to grow back and feed a new generaon of Claerpillars. The circle of life!

With the Claerpillars clearly represenng Rhythm and their Fluerfly counterparts
represenng Melody, Tom and JoJo have to agree that the two concepts in music are

inextricably linked – while you can certainly have one without the other, true balance
is achieved when they are played together.

A SHORT TIME LATER: Scab and Wart bring an unopened cocoon

                                                                                                      17
