3-224 All knives must be four inches or less and have locking type blades.
Fixed blade knives are prohibited. All razor type knives or box cutters
are prohibited unless they have a safety device that automatically
retracts or covers the blade to prevent accidental contact.
HOUSEKEEPING (3-300)
3-300 Keep parts and scrap materials picked up to prevent slip, trip, and
fall hazards.
3-301 At the end of each work shift:
A. Clean worktables, benches, and/or assigned work area.
B. Roll up and store air hoses, extension cords, and other rollable
items.
C. Place all scraps in appropriate box or storage area.
D. Return unused nuts and bolts to storage bin.
E. Return all tools to proper location.
F. Empty all trash containers into proper disposal facilities.
3-302 Place parts not necessary for the job back in their proper place (e.g.,
storage containers, pallets, or shelves, etc.).
3-303 Keep aisles clear.
3-304 Keep all work areas clear of oily rags. Store rags in an approved
fireproof, labeled container with a closed lid.
3-305 Clean up any oil or grease spilled on the floor.
3-306 Maintain good housekeeping in your own work areas, and mobile
equipment.
3-307 Keep equipment, plant walkways and stairs in proper repair, clear of
mud, ice, or snow, and free of material, debris, and other
obstructions. Do not walk on or over spillage. Clean as you go or
barricade and report to your supervisor.
3-308 Keep all hoses, cables and ropes coiled and in their proper storage
place when not in use.
3-309 Attempt to place welding hoses, cables, ropes, air hoses and water
hoses or other devices in a manner that will not create a tripping
hazard.
