8-155 Insure that trailing axles and pushing axles are set for the proper
amount of yardage being hauled.
8-156 If booster axle malfunctions while you are driving, immediately pull
over when safe to do so and call for a mechanic.
8-157 Be aware of any person who is near the vehicle. Make certain that the
person is not in danger of becoming entangled in any moving part of
the vehicle.
8-158 Hang mud flaps before you pull onto job site; return mud flaps to
normal position when leaving.
8-159 Notify your supervisor or dispatcher immediately if spillage occurs.
8-160 Attach or extend the chutes at the job site just before beginning the
pour.
8-161 Do not add any type of extension devices to chutes other than those
originally equipped on the mixers.
8-162 Do not stand or climb on or under chutes and never allow anyone to
stand or climb on or under chutes.
8-163 Clear chutes of all concrete whenever extended travel is required on a
job site and maintain control of chutes.
8-164 When pouring concrete on a job site, never back up unless the chute
operator who must swing the chute to one side is clearly visible. Stop
the mixer if the chute operator is not visible.
8-165 As the driver of the vehicle, you are the person responsible for the
vehicle’s movement – and any consequences - even when you are
being guided by a chute operator or other person.
8-166 Keep body and feet in proper position when handling chutes to avoid
back injuries.
8-167 Avoid chute pinch points while handling chutes and wear proper
gloves.
8-168 Wash chutes in designated wash out areas.
Upon Return to the Plant from the Job Site

rinse out without approval from the dispatcher or supervisor.
8-170 Dump returned concrete or rinse water only in designated areas.
8-171 Wear hard hat, goggles, or safety glasses with a face shield when
