Abstract
This research aims to observe the implimentation of Cooperative Learning
using STAD method to improve the student’s skill in narrative writing at
Indraprasta PGRI University. This research uses an action research
approach. In this research, researcher will collaborate with writing 2
lecturers. This research was conducted at Indraprasta PGRI University
Jakarta with subject matter “A Memorable Event in My Life”. This research
was carried out at Indraprasta PGRI University in Writing 2 class semester
5 consisting of 30 students. The results showed that by implementing
STAD method in writing class, the students’ ability in narative writing are
developed. Before using STAD method, most of the student cannot write
well because of the method used by the lecturer is not effective. By using
STAD method, the students can write narrative better than before because
they can use their ideas effectively.

Keterampilan menulis sebagai salah satu komponen dari
keterampilan berbahasamempunyai peranan penting di dalam
kehidupan manusia. Melalui kegiatan menulis seseorangdapat
mengungkapkan pikiran dan gagasan untuk mencapai maksud dan
tujuan. Oleh sebab itu,
Kegiatan menulis adalah keterampilan berbahasa yang
dianggap paling sukar untuk dikuasaidibanding dengan
keterampilan yang lainnya. Penuangan ide dan gagasan yang
berupa tulisanharus memperhatikan kaidah tata bahasa yang sesuai
