Abstract
This mini research discusses reasons, concept, and the implementation of
cooperative learning model in an institution of English. The ideas of this
learning model are the students study together for their own benefits, and
the role of teacher as facilitator. The students are taught to interact each
other during the learning process. Starting from the difficulties that the
students are facing in learning English particularly in listening, the writer
tries to see the model of cooperative learning being experienced by the
students of Intermediate 3 in LIA Bekasi. The subjects of the research are
the teacher and the students, while the objects are the 12 aspects of the
characteristics of cooperative learning. The data were taken from the class
observation during the listening session. The 12 aspects were recorded
and noted in a particular note. From the data found and analyzed, the
writer concludes that the teacher and all students of Intermediate 3 have
implemented the learning model. The 12 aspects of cooperative learning
were adapted in the class. However, the implementation is still far from
what have been suggested by the experts. The teacher and all students
are not adopted the model in an appropriate way yet.
