This implies that the midwives health teachings regarding maternal health care are effective.4.)
There is significant difference noted between the practices employed by the midwives in the
prevention of postpartum hemorrhage across the number of relevant trainings attended related
to maternal health care in the past 2 years. There is no significant difference in the practices
employed by the midwives across their age, civil status, highest educational attainment and
monthly income.5.) The proposed measures to improve practices employed in the prevention
of postpartum hemorrhage placed greater emphasis on health education on prenatal, intranatal
and postnatal care such as provision of health education in the respective health centers to
enhance their knowledge on proper care needed during and after pregnancy. Allocation of more
time for discussion with health workers during prenatal and post natal visits so their questions
and concerns could be addresses effectively. Provision of continuous training for maternal health
workers especially those conducted by the Department of health in order to fully understand the
important phases of applying the proper management of postpartum hemorrhage.
The following recommendations were offered: 1.) Continuous and responsible provision
of massive health education is to be implemented to the mothers by the midwives and other
health workers.2.) The midwives should maintain a high degree of consistency in their health
practices to ensure the health and safety of the mother and her child.3.) Midwives should always
be participative in sharing their views on the ways and techniques on health management during
home visits or consultations in barangay.4.) The midwives should comply with the implementing
rules and guidelines of Department of health.5.) The mothers and health workers should find
time to discuss extensively the health practices in order to come up with a better perspective.6.)
