2.22 Comms (Serial Number) Lost Area SN: Serial Number
1. Comms(serial number) lost Area SN: followed by an Area Alarm Module
serial number, displays on the Master Alarm. For example,
Comms31256 lost Area20459.

↓ → Go to “Final Actions” on page 2-7.
2. The Area Alarm Module indicated on the display is still in the alarm
network.
Yes No
↓ → Do a Clear Network command. (see “Clear Alarm Network
Device List” on page 1-95). If this solves the problem, go to
“Final Actions” on page 2-7. Otherwise, go to step 3.
3. The wiring between the Area Alarm Module indicated on the display and
its Network Communications Board is good.
Yes No
↓ → Replace the 10-conductor ribbon cable from the Area Alarm
Module to the Network Communications Board (refer to
procedure 4.19 on page 4-48). If this solves the problem, go to
“Final Actions” on page 2-7. Otherwise, go to step 4.
4. Replace the Area Alarm Module (refer to procedure 4.9 on page 4-26).
This solves the problem.
