( c ) FOLLOW A TRAIL INDICATED BY SURFACE MATERIALS.
There are two ways to lay a trail
which is to be followed. You can use
coloured wool or cloth tied onto
branches etc., or you can use chalk to
mark the path. If you use these
methods you must remember to remove
the items or marks so that nothing is left
behind.
The other way of laying a trail is by
the use of natural materials such as
stones, twigs or grass. These marks do not need to be removed afterwards. See
drawings above.
For more outdoor adventure try for the Explorer or the Map Reader Proficiency
Badge.
9. COLLECTING
MAKE A COLLECTION OF NATURAL OBJECTS AND LABEL THEM, e.g.
STONES, FEATHERS, INSECTS, TWIGS, LEAVES ETC.
In the Bronze Arrow you made a collection of things made by man, now, for
the Silver Arrow you will make a collection of natural items. The collection can be in
trays or fixed onto a card. Make labels and write neatly to identify each item.
Do some more collecting and you could be collecting the Collectors
Proficiency Badge.
10. ENTERTAINMENT
ACT IN A PLAY WITH YOUR SIX.
You may not want to become a movie or TV star but learning to act can be
fun. Who knows, you may turn out to be a natural actor and be the BEST in your
Pack or at School. Always try to speak clearly so that you can be heard. This would
also help you when you are speaking to anyone.
There is an Entertainer Proficiency Badge for you to gain.
