6. ARTS AND CRAFTS
Here is another opportunity to test your creative talents.

( a ) MAKE A GAME OR USEFUL ARTICLE FROM SUITABLE
MATERIALS THAT CAN BE EASILY FOUND.

Materials such as egg boxes, match boxes and plastic bottles are
some of the items that can easily be found. Wood can be obtained from
any carpentry workshop as they always have off-cut pieces which they
                             throw away.
                               ( b ) DRAW A PICTURE, NOT LESS THAN 10” X 6” WITH COLOURED
CRAYONS OR PAINTS OF AN ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATION OF AN
INCIDENT OR A CHARACTER FROM A STORY YOU HAVE READ OR
HEARD. MAKE A SIMPLE FRAME FOR THE PICTURE.

Why not try sketching or painting a scene from the Jungle Book
Stories of Mowgli and the animals of the jungle.

If you enjoy making things and painting pictures you could obtain the
                               Artist or Hobbies Proficiency Badges.

                    7. ENVIRONMENT

( a ) KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF NATURAL VEGETATION AND THE REASONS
                    FOR ENCOURAGING ITS PRESERVATION.

Natural vegetation provides life for more than just plants. Take a close look
at any plot of land with plants growing naturally on it and you will see many living
creatures amongst the plants and grass. These are necessary to provide a balance
of nature. They feed and survive off each other.
( b ) GROW A PLANT FROM A SEED OR CUTTING, AND TELL THE PACK ABOUT
                    IT.

Why not suspend an avocado pear stone in a glass of water, with tooth picks
stuck in it to stop it from fully submerging in the water. Watch how the stone splits to
allow the new shoot to appear. Place some bean seeds on some damp paper towel
and see the shoots come out. See the sketch below for the names.
