His attachment to Hangul, which penetrates the center of the work
world of the Bosung Keum, is evidently shown in the 〈breakwater
tetrapod〉. This installation is also on an extension of the 'Hangul'
work line, along with his previous works that have worked on the
plane and stereoscopic works on the theme of abstract beauty,
formality, and energy of Hangul itself. Most of us do not recognize
certain objects with the resemblance of letters, but the artist who
has a special interest in Hangul has seen them where is close to our
everyday life. The motif of the work is the breakwater tetrapod,
which is associated with the consonant letter 'Shiot (ㅅ)'.
Tetrapod was good enough to draw his attention as its appearance
is similar to Hangul, and is a familiar object to the artist who spent
his youth at Yeosu that is adjacent to the sea.
